Bako Motors makes its first export of electric vehicles to Germany

Bako Motors, a Tunisian startup and member of the Tunisian Automotive Association (TAA), takes a new step in the development of the Tunisian automotive industry by making its first shipment of electric vehicles to Germany.

The first batch exported consists of 20 electric vehicles destined for the German market. For the year 2026, Bako Motors plans to export 88 vehicles, before accelerating its international development with a target of 800 units exported in 2027.

According to Boubaker Siala, Managing Director of Bako Motors, this first delivery marks the beginning of the brand's commercial deployment in Europe. The company is now present in five international markets: Germany, Italy, France, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Based in the El Mghira industrial zone (Ben Arous governorate), Bako Motors currently employs 68 people. In just four years of activity, the company has marketed more than 400 electric vehicles on the Tunisian market.

One of Bako Motors' main assets is its local integration rate of more than 40%, the result of collaboration with several Tunisian manufacturers specializing in technical textiles This approach contributes to the development of the local value chain and strengthens the competitiveness of the Tunisian automotive ecosystem.

As part of its growth strategy, Bako Motors is also pursuing the development of its national network with a future establishment in Sousse, complementing its current presence in This new site aims for an annual production of 8,000 vehicles, 80% of which will be for export, confirming the international ambitions of this Tunisian manufacturer.

2.4 MWp of solar energy: COFICAB Tunisia accelerates its industrial decarbonization

COFICAB Tunisia has reached a major strategic milestone in its energy transition with the full commissioning of a 2.4 MWp rooftop photovoltaic power plant at its industrial site. This structuring investment positions COFICAB as a committed player in industrial decarbonization and energy efficiency in Tunisia , particularly in the automotive sector.

The solar power plant enables the annual production of approximately 3.9 GWh of renewable electricity , significantly reducing dependence on the national electricity grid and strengthening energy cost control. From an environmental perspective, this project helps avoid nearly 1,720 tonnes of CO₂ per year , equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of more than 86,000 trees .
