STAFIM Industrial, a subsidiary of the STAFIM Group, a historic presence in the Tunisian automotive industry since 1930, is demonstrating its expertise and dedication to manufacturing excellence by initiating the first export operation of the PEUGEOT Landtrek pickup. These vehicles are manufactured at the STAFIM Industrial facilities in El Mghira, with an integration rate of 42%.
This inaugural export operation reflects the trust of international markets in Tunisian craftsmanship, production quality, and Peugeot’s innovation. It further solidifies Tunisia’s reputation as a hub for manufacturing excellence.
Indeed, the Peugeot Landtrek, the best-selling Peugeot model in Tunisia, is assembled in SKD (Semi-Knocked Down) form at the STAFIM Industrial Plant, known as the ‘Excellent Plant.’ This facility is considered a benchmark in terms of quality by Stellantis, with a high-quality index (IQX of 0.13), thanks to the highly skilled and entirely Tunisian workforce employed by STAFIM Industrial. These professionals receive training and consistently meet Stellantis’ standards and requirements.
This export to Jordan not only signifies trust but also contributes to Tunisia’s economic growth by creating new business opportunities and generating a significant influx of foreign currency. It further solidifies the country’s reputation as a center of excellence in the automotive production industry and creates over 650 direct and indirect local jobs, thereby fostering the development of specialized skills and strengthening the Tunisian industrial landscape.
This event marks the beginning of several promising export operations to Maghreb and African countries, in line with existing bilateral and multilateral agreements. Not to be forgotten is the framework contract signed with Stellantis for the export of the Landtrek, which serves as a crucial facilitator and promoter of exports for STAFIM Industrial and Tunisia as a whole.
