Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between ANME and the Tunisian Automotive Association

Tunis, May 19, 2023 – The National Agency for Energy Management (ANME), represented by its General Director, Mr. Fethi HANCHI, and the Tunisian Automotive Association (TAA), represented by its President, Mr. Nabhen BOUCHAALA, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations as part of the implementation of the state’s policy in the field of energy transition and support for industrial establishments in energy-saving actions.

This signing was preceded by an awareness event jointly organized on energy efficiency for industrial companies in the automotive sector, who are members of the TAA, in March 2023. The aim was to encourage them to embrace energy transition and the importance of energy management actions.

Signature d’un Protocole d’accord

The Memorandum of Understanding, aimed at strengthening cooperation between ANME and TAA in the field of energy efficiency, includes provisions such as the establishment of a monitoring committee to assess the progress made by TAA member companies in terms of energy efficiency. It also entails conducting joint studies on energy-efficient technologies applicable to the automotive industry.

This initiative is supported within the framework of the special “Decent Jobs for a Just Transition” initiative through the project “Partnerships for Employment and Support to Small and Medium Enterprises in Tunisia II.” The project is mandated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Tunisia in close cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy.
